TCL kick starts the new year with a donation of 60 Lenovo Tablets to primary schools within the Claxton Bay area to ensure students are ready to start the new term. This investment is additional to others made by TCL to promote education within the community and the initiative ensures that those students who were unable to connect virtually would now be positioned for academic excellence by being equipped with a device for remote learning.

During January 11-12, Country Manager, Guillermo Rojo and Janelle Collins, T&T Communication and CSR Coordinator presented the devices to the principals of six (6) primary schools: Claxton Bay Union Presbyterian, Macaulay Government Primary, Mt. Pleasant Primary, Mayo R.C. School, Claxton Bay Senior Anglican and Union Claxton Bay Senior Comprehensive.

At the handover, Mr. Rojo noted that, ‘being part of a community means taking care of each other, helping wherever we can and as much as we can, especially during these difficult times. He went on to say, ‘it is important to partner with the schools in the Claxton Bay, by reaching out to the students who are in critical need of devices for home-schooling.’

Overall, the gesture was well received by the principals who each expressed their gratitude for the generous contribution. Ms. Karen Dalrymple, Principal of the Claxton Bay Senior Anglican Primary went further to note that the donation will go a long way in building a solid foundation. Equally, Corporate Citizens like TCL, its employees and stakeholders were leading the way in bridging the need of the future leaders at this time in our history.
