Diversity and Inclusion
Diversity, equity, and inclusion are fundamental to our success. We believe that diverse perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds are critical for driving innovation, creativity, and pushing the boundaries of sustainable construction.
Our Commitment to DEI: A Framework for Progress
We are committed to building a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace for everyone. To guide our efforts, we have developed the Cemex DEI Framework, which provides strategic initiatives through five key lines of action. These include a defined DEI governance structure, an institutional framework through policies, processes, and platforms, a nurturing culture, career development programs, and data analytics to monitor our progress.
We’ve made significant strides in advancing our DEI culture. We are actively driving gender and multicultural representation at all levels of the organization, embedding inclusion in all aspects of our team’s experience, acknowledging participation in affinity groups, and ensuring physical and emotional safety and well-being for all.
Diversity
is about embracing unique perspectives from all our colleagues, regardless of their backgrounds or experiences.
Equity
means shaping our systems and resources to meet individual needs and unlocking everyone’s full potential.
Inclusion
is about creating a sense of belonging where all backgrounds are welcomed, ideas are heard, and creativity and growth thrive.
DEI Governance: Ensuring Accountability and Impact
At Cemex, we know that creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace requires everyone’s commitment. We have established a DEI governance structure that ensures accountability and impact at every level of our organization.
Our DEI Advisory Committee, led by our CEO and Executive Committee members, meets quarterly to oversee progress on company-wide initiatives and review DEI performance. The Cemex Board of Directors and its Sustainability Committee also review our progress and performance annually. In addition to our global strategy, we recognize the importance of addressing local needs. Over 100 executives participate in local diversity committees that co-create initiatives tailored to local challenges and practices.
